Last week we had our first parent-teacher conference for our daughter. This is the same daughter that my lovely wife stressed so hard over last spring. She was worried that Ady would not be ready for kindergarten. After all Ady would not turn 5 until the first week of school.
The teacher said. Ady is just fine. She is doing well academically. She knows her letters and numbers, she does what she's asked to and does it well. Her only problem is that she sometimes doesn't pay enough attention to directions. Something that I think is pretty common for 5 year olds. I'm very proud of her. She has done well in school this year and really enjoys it. Moreover, she is already starting to read. She can sound out words and can read 22 of the 40+ sight words that they plan to work on at school this year.
I'm very proud of my 5 year old smart little Kindergardener.
