I'm off an running again. Yesterday I was able to run my first mile this year. My legs are paying for it and I'm sore today, but whoa, it feels great!
Tonight however, was even better. My run tonight had to be one of the best feelings I've ever had running. All winter I've been listening to Ady tell me how she was going to run with me. Tonight when I got home from work, with the weather nice and dinner not yet ready, I asked her if she wanted to go for a run with me. Thankfully her Dora movie ended or she may have said no.
We got in our running clothes and our "the same shoes, they both tie", and headed out the door. Erin took a picture as we started our father daughter running tradition. We headed west and ran around the outside of 2 blocks to end up back home. Ady was awesome. I never once pushed her to run more or faster, she just ran, and every now and then she'd say, I'm fast like Dash and would burst ahead with more speed. It was awesome running and talking with her. She never stopped talking, even when her breathing started getting heavy, it was the running that took a break so she could keep talking. In just over 8 minutes we made it around the outside of our 2 blocks. According to MapMyRun.com it was half a mile.
It was an amazing run, and I look forward to many more father daughter runs.
